Re: SeaDAS - Error when running getanc.py

That worked, thank you! How/where do I find out the operational tag? What we currently have was obtained at 2019-08-23 14:45:31 UTC by running install_ocssw.py --install-dir=/tmp/ocssw-fetch/ocssw/ -b v7.5 --aqua --terra --viirsn --viirsj1 so there's a very good chance there have been improvements s...

SeaDAS - Error when running getanc.py

This is probably something simple that I'm missing but I've been looking at it for a while and am not seeing it, so here goes... When I run the following correct-looking commands $ export OCSSWROOT=/marine-services/ocssw $ source /marine-services/ocssw/OCSSW_bash.env $ getanc.py --sst -s 20192132030...

Subscription Issues

We stopped getting new L2 sea ocean color swaths (both NPP and NOAA-20) and sea surface temperature swaths around 13:50 UTC on 2021-11-10. We have multiple subscriptions and they all seem to have quit working around the same time. Our L1A subscriptions to MODISA and MODIST appear to be working norma...

PODAAC Cloud direct s3 access

I see references in the PODAAC Cloud documentation to "direct s3 access". I think it would be very useful to us but am unsure how to proceed from here. Are there any descriptions / examples of how to use it available, please? I got as far as retrieving a 1 hour key but could not determine ...

Outdated Planetary Ephemeris in OCSSW Distribution

I retrieved ocssw using install_ocssw.py --install-dir=/tmp/ocssw-fetch/ocssw/ -b v7.5 --aqua --terra --viirsn --viirsj1 from 2021-10-12 03:08:27Z to 2021-10-12 03:11:49Z The de200.eos file retrieved (from git?) during that process had expired. After I figured out what was wrong I replaced it with o...

Re: modis_GEO.py failures

Good tips, thank you! At least for now I'm testing that the gbad files are are 19968 bytes or more long and start with EOSAM1 or EOSAM2. If I find that's not working I'll come up with plan B. In the case of netcdf/hdf files I have an automated test that ncdump -h doesn't return an error code. In add...

Re: modis_GEO.py failures

OK, this is embarrassing  Our download script was retrieving html error messages instead of gbad files and happily injecting them into the production system as if they were actual gbad files. Needless to say modis_GEO.py didn't read / process them properly. Anyway, I'm off to add a trap to the...

modis_GEO.py failures

Some time late in the UTC day 2021-10-10 or early in the day 2021-10-11 modis_GEO.py mysteriously stopped working (we hadn't manipulated the system in months). Here's an example of what's happening when I try to process almost any data with it: /marine-services/ocssw/scripts/modis_GEO.py --threshold...

Subscription issue

Dear Sir, It looks like all of our subscriptions stopped working yesterday 6/18/2021 a bit after 14:18 UTC. Initially when we tried to download a new file it resulted in an html error message - but then new swaths stopped being posted to the subscriptions. Could you please look into it or forward th...

Subscriptions broken

We have 8 different subscriptions that we normally get data from using the file search cgi (https://oceandata.sci.gsfc.nasa.gov/api/file_search/). The subscriptions get data from VIIRS/NPP, VIIRS/N20, MODISA and MODIST. All 8 subscriptions stopped returning new data between 11 and 15 UTC on 5/5/2021...
