Re: OLCI level 1 raw data geo-offset along GreatLakes?

thank you Sean.
I will contact ESA then. I post here to see whether other users encounter the same geolocation offset issue, and whether it is caused by projection, software, tie-points, or other issues.

OLCI level 1 raw data geo-offset along GreatLakes?

Hello all, I work on Sentinel-3 OLCI level 1 images of the Great Lakes, and notice some raw images seems have geolocation offset when comparing with higher resolution Landsat-8 images sensed a few days apart. the following are two examples from my test at early June 2017. both show offset along the ...

batch extract MODIS spectra without download

Hello, I would like to extract MODIS L1 and L2 spectra at geo-locations&time of a large dataset. some example locations like: Name Lat Lon DateTime MB05SBS311 50.63333 96.95000 2016-06-02T14:00:00 MB05SCS157 51.21645 96.72578 2016-06-02T14:00:00 MB05SBS126 50.51692 96.83340 2016-06-03T14:00:00 M...

wget failed 443... failed: Connection timed out; Network is unreachable

Hello, I use https://oceandata.sci.gsfc.nasa.gov/ to download S3AOLCI images every day without a problem in the last 2 weeks. Then yesterday I tried to bulk download last 2 months’ images for Great Lakes, and it stalled half way with error message below. ------------------------- $wget --load-cookie...

MODIS L1B RED/NIR band saturation

Hello all,I am using MODIS aqua images for water quality modelling, and notice it saturates on 667,678, 748nm L1B bands at highly productive or turbid water. Is it caused by sensor failure or processing algorithms? If it is the latter, any solution to restore valid values in these saturated water pi...

invalid/nodata pixels when processing MODIS data over water using l2gen

Hello Sean,Still want some further comments on this topic. My goal is to use MODIS aqua [667,678,748]nm bands to calculate florescence line height (FLH) and test its relation to chlorophyll concentration. I obviously want the **maximum valid** coverage in each MODIS image. But I have the above mentio...

How to configure the coordinates/projection of MODIS L1B data?

With MODIS Aqua L1 hdf file download from the Oceancolor website (MYD01.A20*.hdf), I ran GEO and L1A/B processing, using `/run/scripts/modis_GEO.py`, `/run/scripts/modis_L1A_extract.py`, `/run/scripts/modis_L1B.py` in the SEADAS software. But I notice in the created L1B data, some images have correct...

invalid/nodata pixels when processing MODIS data over water using l2gen

Hi Sean, Thank you for the reply.I tried options for aer_opt, the best (with least nodata/invalid pixel) result comes from:aer_opt=-8, aer_wave_short=2130, aer_wave_long=2130as an approach you mentioned in a previous post: https://oceancolor.gsfc.nasa.gov/forum/oceancolor/topic_show.pl?pid=27608;hl=...

invalid/nodata pixels when processing MODIS data over water using l2gen

When process archive MODIS Aqua data with l2gen, the resultant Level 2 product has invalid Rrs at highly productive water.  Any comment is appreciated.  My experiment is given below. https://drive.google.com/open?id=1HJF1oiafqdASHznJZ2oaKmStpnYfggbj (MYD01.A2017266.1830.061.2018163171904.hdf; L1B; 6...
