Changes in VIIRS calibration?

Thanks for the clarification, Sean !
Now I understand that the calibration changes of R2018 are indeed very large at some bands, and are compensated by opposite vicarious calibration changes (gain(443)=1.0043 in R2014, gain(443)=0.9579 in R2018).
Cheers,
François

Changes in VIIRS calibration?

Dear SeaDAS team,In order to apply alternate atmospheric correction algorithms (Polymer and Neural Network) to SeaWiFS, MODIS and VIIRS in the frame of OC-CCI, we are using l2gen to produce so-called "L1C" files, which are obtained by applying l2gen to L1A files with the following options,...

SeaWiFS azimuth angles in Level2

There seems to be a formatting issue for azimuth angles in Level2 SeaWiFS (when including sola and sena in output).SeaWiFS azimuth angles are defined in [0, 360], but netCDF attributes actually define :<class 'netCDF4._netCDF4.Variable'>int16 sola(number_of_lines, pixels_per_line)  ...

Rayleigh optical thickness in msl12_sensor_info.dat

Hi Sean,Many thanks for your detailed answer !Now I understand why I have found different values. The first thing I did when looking at the spectral response (semilogy(rsr.index, rsr.M1)) was to filter out the values lower than 2% (rsr.M1[rsr.M1 < 0.02] = 0).So apparently I should not do that, but I...

Rayleigh optical thickness in msl12_sensor_info.dat

Dear SeaDAS team,I am relying on Rayleigh optical thickness values provided in msl12_sensor_info.dat, as Tau_r (for VIIRS, SeaWiFS and MODIS).However after recalculating these values using the SRF as provided in https://oceancolor.gsfc.nasa.gov/docs/rsr/ and using [Bodhaine, 99], and I am finding la...
