Sunglint flag in seadas

The HIGLINT flag is set when the Cox-Munk glint coefficient (l2gen product glint_coeff, normalized glint radiance for solar irradiance of unity) is >= 0.005.  The glint_coeff has no spectral (wavelength) dependence.

SeaWiFS Ocean Color Reprocessing 2018.0

All, The Ocean Biology Processing Group has initiated a reprocessing of SeaWiFS ocean color.  The only change is to the recently revised MOBY radiometry into the vicarious calibration.  The impact is minor, as the changes to MOBY are relatively small in the SeaWiFS era.  For more details see:  https...

Documentation for polfiles and xcalfiles

Hey Brian,Changes to the radiometric and polarimetric sensitivity of the MODIS instrument are only a function of time, and these sensitivities are characterized as a a function of angle-of-incidence (aoi) on the primary mirror and the mirror side.  The aoi is directly related to the physical sc...

HICO level 2 processing

I'd add that the HICO bands are at 6-nm intervals and spectral smoothing is performed with a gaussian filter in the calibration process such that the band widths are nominally overlapping 10-nm FWHM gaussians (much like MERIS bands).

HICO and l2gen

Véronique,l2gen has some very limited capability to process HICO.  It selects the MERIS-equivalent bands and processes using MERIS atmospheric correction tables.  We will be implementing full HICO processing capability (128-band hyperspectral), with HICO-specific tables, as soon as we can ...

SeaWiFS Reprocessing 5.2

The binning of all the standard SeaWiFS ocean color products has now been completed (daily - climatologies) and all data products are available via the OceanColor web. The documentation for this effort can be found at: http://oceancolor.gsfc.nasa.gov/REPROCESSING/SeaWiFS/R5.2/ As is described in the...
