Clouds not flagged

Hello, I am using SeaDAS 7.5.1 on a linux server, using MODIS A. I used to batch process all the data from L1A to L3m and apply the ATMFAIL flag to hide the obvious clouds/lands/glint during "l2bin" with "flaguse=ATMFAIL \" However, it does not seem to work anymore (I processed d...

Re: [SeaBASS - MODISA] SST retrieval at night

I understand now. I was using l2flags because I included visible bands along with IR/MWIR/LWIR to try to improve retrievals over noisy matchups. But I guess I will switch to qual_sst.

Thanks for the details!

Re: [SeaBASS - MODISA] SST retrieval at night

Thank you for the answer, I now understand 1) and 3).
However for my 2nd question, I am still a bit lost.
Any thoughts about why I fail at identifying clear sky pixels at night?

Cheers

[SeaBASS - MODISA] SST retrieval at night

Hello, I am using SeaBASS dataset for SST, MODIS Aqua, R2018. I have 3 questions: 1) How are the BT in the MWIR/LWIR corrected? Can you point me to the appropriate atmospheric correction document for these specific bands please? 2) When using night data (flagged as night), I have an issue at isolati...

Re: SST algorithms performances at night

Hello, I am still looking for an answer for this question.

I have one more question that may solve my problem, is the time of the matchups in the SeaBASS SST dataset associated to a specific location (like UTC or Eastern US time) or to the matchup point ?

Cheers

SST algorithms performances at night

Hello, I have read that the SST4 algorithm performs poorer during daylight compared to SST11 due to glint sensitivity around 4 microns mostly. I also read that it is the opposite during night time, with SST4 having better performances compared to SST11, which is why NASA's SST product are SST11 duri...

Re: Processing using l2gen: several questions

Thanks for the previous reply Sean, but I am sorry to say I am still unsure what masks have been applied to my Level 3 output. My processing steps are: After using L2GEN my L2 product shows "CLDICE" and "HILT" . I then use L2BIN and I apply "ATM FAIL" to mask data where...
