Hi - Thanks for your interest in FIRMS. 1. You are correct - the archived FIRMS MODIS data colums columns 'brightness' and 'bright_t31' are both temperatures in Kelvin measured by different wavelengths (4 or 11 um as in the paper). The flood product is currently only available in near real-time and so users need to contact support@earthdata.nasa.gov with flood in the subject line to access the old archive.

Hello - For now please email earthdata support support@earthdata.nasa.gov (with flood in the subject line) to request the legacy data.

Hi Abdur, FIRMS does not provide active fire data by county, but they are available at the country level.
