Thanks so much Kathleen. I was able to generate a working token at the location you suggested. And it works in my API calls.

As of June 1, we are not able to successfully access FIRMS data using our token. Receive a 401 now. I generated a new token from the EarthData dashboard which now starts with EDL-....., but that does not work. For my account I selected all of the FIRMS related services.
