Re: Question about MODIS daily data GeoTIFF download

I see you have ordered a large subset area - this could present an issue for 23 years of daily data. For such larger subsets, if you submit a few years at a time, it would probably be easier to download in a tarball.

Re: Evaluating height of trees with high precision for different year

Hi amirfarshadfar , Thank you for reaching out to us. The availability of surface elevation and canopy height datasets depends on the region of your interest. I have listed a few selected sources below: 1. GEDI (between 52 N to 52 S latitudes): https://search.earthdata.nasa.gov/search?fi=GEDI 2. ICE...

Re: How to calculate the corners of the lat/lon grids in Daymet

Hi @peteden, I'm sorry I missed your post earlier. Could it be that you have the netCDF file missing at `/xxxxxxx/daymet_v4_daily_na_prcp_1980.nc`, or that the file is corrupted? Could you try with another file? Thank you!

Re: How to calculate the corners of the lat/lon grids in Daymet

Hi peteden , Thank you for contacting us. One way to get the corners of a Daymet grid is to create the corner coordinates in Daymet's native projection (Lambert Conformal Conic, LCC) and then convert these coordinates to lat, lon. I have posted an example Python script here: https://github.com/rupes...

Re: GEDI Shot number and shot index

Hi zoe_sig , The following tutorials show how to get the `shot_number` variable for GEDI L4A. All GEDI footprint data (L1B, L2A, L2B, L4A) use the same `shot_number` scheme. https://github.com/ornldaac/gedi_tutorials/blob/main/3_gedi_l4a_exploring_data.ipynb https://github.com/ornldaac/gedi_tutorial...

Re: GEDI download gives response Forbidden

Hi @role_model, Are you still seeing the "Forbidden error" when downloading GEDI L4A files using Earthdata search? I tried downloading this morning, and I could download the files successfully. Let us know if you are still seeing the issue.

Re: white patches in GEDI data

Hi @khorramim , ICESat-2 products, such as ATL03/ATL08 , might be suitable for canopy heights. Other data products may fit your requirements: https://search.earthdata.nasa.gov/search?q=canopy%20height

Re: white patches in GEDI data

Hi khorramim , The "white patches" in the gridded GEDI products, such as GEDI L3 canopy height metrics and GEDI L4B aboveground biomass density, are due to there being no good quality GEDI shots within the 1km x 1km grid. As GEDI collects more shots, these grids with no GEDI shots will be ...
