Re: LAADS DAAC is responding slowly

Hi, I cleared the cache and history, but I'm still unable to order the data. I tested with a different username and email ID, and it worked fine. It seems the issue is specific to my account. Could you please check my permissions for LAADS DAAC? I also tried by changing academic mail address to my E...

Re: LAADS DAAC is responding slowly

Hello, Thank you for your response. I'm not sure why it's not working as expected on my end. This issue started after I recently updated my profile email address. Though I verified the same. Old email: ms.harshbardhan@rediffmail.com New email: harshbardhansingh535@gmail.com Could this issue be relat...

LAADS DAAC is responding slowly

Hi,
I've noticed that the LAADS DAAC search and ordering toolbox consistently freezes at around 85%, and this issue has been occurring since last week.
Any suggestion/help from the community.
Thanks!

Altitude value in CALIPSO Level-2 aerosol profile

I am trying to plot Extinction_Coefficient_532 from Level-2 Aerosol profile data. Please see the python script (https://github.com/hdfeos/forum/discussions/31) I’m seeking clarification regarding the indexing of data values and altitude bins in CALIPSO products. According to Table 1 in the CALIPSO d...

Total Number of L2 AOD Input Pixel Counts in MODIS L3 AOD

Hi, I am trying to determine the total number of L2 AOD input pixels used to generate the MODIS L3 AOD SDS: 'AOD_550_Dark_Target_Deep_Blue_Combined_Mean_Mean'. I noticed that the SDS 'AOD_550_Dark_Target_Deep_Blue_Combined_Histogram_Counts' provides counts within five histogram bins with boundaries:...

Re: How to select low level warm water cloud fraction in MODIS MCD06COSP dataset

Thanks for your kind suggestion! one more thing I want to ask, while computing cloud fraction in MODIS COSP dataset, do the computation consider the effect of overlap cloud layer? Some studies (e.g., DOI: 10.1126/sciadv.adh771) while using MODIS cloud fraction prefer random overlap assumption as: CF...

Re: How to select low level warm water cloud fraction in MODIS MCD06COSP dataset

Okay, I will consider overlapping pixels of “Cloud Mask Fraction Low” AND “Cloud Retrieval Fraction Liquid” for low-level warm cloud selection. Thanks for your kind suggestion. I am using python (xarray and numpy) mask = 1 * numpy.ones((180,360)) * numpy.isfinite(Cloud_Mask_Fraction_Low) low_warm_cl...
