Question: Bearer token API

Re: Bearer token API

Dear Colleague, Thank you for posting your question. First, there is a typo in the command on that webpage (https://urs.earthdata.nasa.gov/documentation/for_users/user_token). The command for getting the bearer token programmatically: curl --request GET \ --url https://uat.urs.earthdata.nasa.gov/api...

Question: MODIS: Limitations of Visible Bands
Replies: 1

Re: MODIS: Limitations of Visible Bands

MODIS is an optical sensor, which has inherent limitations in observing sea ice and snow. Unlike a passive-microwave sensor, which can detect microwave energy through clouds, MODIS cannot observe the surface when cloud cover is present. MODIS products, therefore, have cloud masks built into the data...

Question: MODIS: Choosing between Aqua and Terra products
Replies: 2

Re: MODIS: Choosing between Aqua and Terra products

Because MODIS sensors have flown on both the Terra and Aqua satellites, NSIDC offers parallel products derived from MODIS on each satellite. Terra and Aqua products are very similar with a few key differences: Terra launched two years before Aqua, so the Terra record starts earlier, with observation...
