Re: Need Help In Programming For CALIPSO Data

Based on your stated goal to identify cloud layers, we would actually recommend to use the cloud classification from the Level 2 Vertical Feature Mask data product CAL_LID_L2_VFM-Standard-V4-20 The HDF ZOO scripts are already written to work with the VFM data. The VFM will provide you both with clou...

Re: CERES EBAF Ed.4.o Data

This response was provided by the SME Walt Miller of the CERES Science Team EBAF is a monthly average product. Hourly data for the full month is averaged. Obviously, only daylight hours are included for shortwave flux and cloud properties items. The CERES data in the EBAF (after July 2002) are at 10...

Re: Aerosol Extinction Profile; Interpolation

On Nov 27, 2019 the CALIPSO Team posted Please note: The specific angstrom exponent noted below is looking at high altitudes, so this term may differ for the region that you are looking at. CALIPSO extinction and optical depths at 532 nm can be converted to 550 nm by using an appropriate Angstrom e...

Re: Australian wildfire visualization

Dear Enthusiastic Graduate Student, MISR satellite data is available at the new ASDC website here . I would suggest using the MI3MAENF dataset, because that shows the aerosol optical depth on a monthly timescale. Looking at November 2019 data, please go to this page to directly download this dataset...

Re: How do I find more information about POWER

The solar data was initially produced on a 1° x 1° global grid and then re-gridded via data replication to a 0.5° x 0.5° latitude and longitude global grid. The meteorology data was initially produced on a 1/2° x 2/3° global grid and then re-gridded via bi-linearly interpolation to a 0.5° x 0.5° lat...

Re: MISR geolocation problem

n the conversion from stacked-block to conventional format, data is reprojected onto a flat 2-dimensional grid, so that the MISR blocks can be aligned appropriately with respect to each other. For most fields this reprojection is trivial, requiring no resampling; i.e. the reprojected data is identic...

Question: Can I use MISR data in ENVI?

Re: Can I use MISR data in ENVI?

The misr_envi tool imports MISR Level 1B2 Ellipsoid and Terrain stacked block data into ENVI. The data are automatically geolocated and the band information is correctly interpreted, improving the way ENVI understands such files and presents their contents. An extension to the tool reads and geoloca...
