Re: Question related SST

There are many reasons for the general SST_day > SST_night expectation to fail, including diel patterns in wind velocity and direction, clouds, and biases in ancillary products. Years ago, while working on methods to determine dynamic boundaries for Longhurst's regions, I compared day and night SST ...

Re: (Log file directory is not accessible to write) Install Seadas 8.1.0, WSL, Windows 10, OCSSW

It seems that the file "ocssw.db" does not exist, because when I use the command: find . -name "ocssw.db" I have no return. Please, could you tell me which folder the file "ocssw.db" is supposed to be in? Check the permissions for the directory tree you are using. Note...

Re: Processing level 0 MODIS Aqua Product- nlw bands

Thank you a lot the link was really helpful. I was searching for the l2gen_par in the OCSSW but showing no such file or directory. Do you know why? kind regards It looks like you are struggling with the linux command line. Rather than using the forum for step-by-step command-line help, you will fin...

Re: Java Issue on Mac

Glad you got things working. The OCSSW software isn't really designed for sharing among users. Disk space shouldn't be an issue as the software is much smaller than typical data sets, so it is generally better if each user has their own installation configured to their specific needs. If everyone is...

Re: MODIS SST product

The choice of SST products and subsequent processing depends on your use case, so it is impossible to give a proper answer to your question. There have been many papers comparing SST products with in situ data and other SST products. These may help your decision. Satellite SST's often have so few pi...

Re: (Log file directory is not accessible to write) Install Seadas 8.1.0, WSL, Windows 10, OCSSW

Thank you for the information! Ok, WSL2 works as a virtual machine. Sorry but I didn't understand what I have to do right now. When you say "I have the OCSSW software (tag 2021.2 ) running in an Ubuntu 20.04 VM (hosted on linux)", how I find "tag 2021.2" ? I have to Install Orac...

Re: MODIS files for 2021

It is unfortunate that the log appears as a PDF file -- text is more useful when quoting for replies.

The log says: "There is NO data for time specified." For cases like this, the level 1 and 2 browser is very helpful to show you the areas with data:

Re: (Log file directory is not accessible to write) Install Seadas 8.1.0, WSL, Windows 10, OCSSW

I installed again Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL2), Ubuntu 20.04 LTS and others apps indicated by the link: https://seadas.gsfc.nasa.gov/client_server/ The instructions for configuring WSL are for version 1. WSL2 is a virtual machine, so you might be able to use the virtual machine configuration....

Re: how to remove bowtie for VIIRS imagery in SeaDAS

You are very welcome. Hope you find a workflow that fits your use case. I should mention that the deletion artifacts (and Moire effects) are less of a problem at lower resolution. Also, ESA has their own binning tool in the Graph Processing Facility (GPF). It is mentioned in the SeaDAS 8 GUI Help GP...
