Re: How to create VIIRS L1A from L0?

I don't know. Probably. Ask the direct broadcast folks:

https://directreadout.sci.gsfc.nasa.gov/

The L1A VIIRS data (but not the L0) are available from our data distribution site:
https://oceandata.sci.gsfc.nasa.gov

Question: Old leapsec.dat file on Ancillary site

Re: Old leapsec.dat file on Ancillary site

Jess, The file is not old. In fact, there hasn't been a leap second since 2017. The reason the file is regularly updated is because the SDPTK code used by the MODIS geolocation code checks the time stamp in the header of the file (a timestamp it adds to the file) and will stubbornly refuse to work i...

Re: MODIS DR processing - migrating from SeaDAS v7.2 to 8.1

...yeah, that's the ticket :D

With SeaDAS 8, we moved most of the scripts to bin and lopped off the .py extension.

Re: SeaDAS 7.5.3

Your Mac appears to be suffering from the expired DST Root CA X3 issue.

Make sure that the system is up to date with all its security patches. You may also need to follow the advice for obtaining the proper certificates found here:

Question: Degraded Ocean Color data
Replies: 2

Re: Degraded Ocean Color data

It is. There was an indication from the OMI/TOMS team that it was resolved about a month ago, but in our testing we identified a residual effect of the underlying cause. The bulk of the problem was corrected, but we are still waiting on the OMI/TOMS team to provide a fix for this secondary issue. .....

Re: How to create VIIRS L1A from L0?

The VIIRS L1A products we distribute are available as soon as we receive the L0 data. The L0 data are in orbit-based (nominally 90 minutes) which are replaced by 2-hour PDS files. The orbit based files are available with a sub-3hour latency and the 2-hour replay (and the official archive product) wi...

Question: How to run PML algorithm in command line?

Re: How to run PML algorithm in command line?

To be clear, the PML algorithm in l2gen works when the source data is a satellite L1 file. It only has an issue when the source is a SeaBASS-formatted ASCII text file. :D

Re: How to run PML algorithm in command line?

Ah, well, you're passing in SeaBASS file, not a SeaWiFS file. The PML algorithm requires the view geometry. The l2gen SeaBASS file reader does not populate the geometries. The PML code does not check to see that valid values are passed and when it tries to interpolate the LUT with negative indices (...

Re: How to process Landsat8 Collection2 L1 data with SeaDAS

Roxani, This is a different question, so should probably be a new thread...but, since I'm here... Landsat is, well, designed for land. The signal-to-noise is a wee bit below what is really required to do ocean color remote sensing - especially for the red bands (a bit better in the shorter wavelengt...

Re: How to run PML algorithm in command line?

Works for me. Can you provide specifics on the inputs you used (input file and parameters)?
