Re: Accessing lat and lon for MODIS-Aqua 4km Chlorophyll

Hello,

You could use Giovanni (https://giovanni.gsfc.nasa.gov/) to create an animated GIF of the MODIS-Aqua monthly chlorophyll data product. Please reply for more guidance if this would be of interest to you.

Re: Albedo data by city

One more note about Giovanni; after you have defined your city boundaries, you can then created an Area-Averaged Time Series that will average the albedo values over the entire bounding box, and provide a time-series of values according to the temporal resolution of the variable. This time-series ca...

Re: can't find MODIS land surface temperature and vegetation index data in Giovanni

Due to changes at the data center which provides the NDVI data, we can no longer use the search method that was used by Giovanni to find the data according to the user specifications. NDVI data can be visualized with Worldview ( https://worldview.earthdata.nasa.gov ) , and the data is actually from ...

Re: Level 3 Daily CO2, NO2

The daily data will usually have gaps due to satellite scanning patterns and conditions that affect data quality. I cannot provide a lot of insight on the OCO technique, except to note that because atmospheric CO2 is a well-mixed gas, it is computationally simpler to fill the gaps via assimilated da...

Re: Level 3 Daily CO2, NO2

Hello. The Giovanni system has daily Level 3 CO2, NO2, and CH4 from the Orbiting Carbon Observatory, the Ozone Measuring Instrument, and AIRS, respectively. I have created a URL for these variables in Giovanni, provided below. Note that for CH4 from AIRS, a pressure level must be provided. 1000 hPA ...

Re: Looking for time-averaged Monthly chlorophyll-a estimations for Lake Apopka, FL

The only chlorophyll data we are set up to support in Giovanni is the MODIS-Aqua Level 3 data product. To get higher resolution data from MERIS, VIIRS, or OLCI, you would have to contact the data provider. I hope you will be able to use Giovanni effectively.
