Re: MERRA-2 skin temperaute
Hello, Our apologies for the delay in this reply. Our MERRA-2 Subject Matter Expert has provided this preliminary answer with a request for more information. Over the ocean, both MERRA2 and ERA5 read in SST observations, Over land, ERA5 assimilates near surface air temperature and moisture, while ME...

Re: Cloud cover or similar data - Modis Aqua
You are welcome. OBDAAC personnel may be able to advise on cloud cover data in SeaDAS; there may be a cloud mask that can be generated or used in the system.

Re: Looking for time-averaged Monthly chlorophyll-a estimations for Lake Apopka, FL
Hello, You can get this from the Giovanni system, https://giovanni.gsfc.nasa.gov/ , but you must input the geographical coordinates for the bounding box around the lake. I just attempted to do this, and I will provide the URL, along with a couple of images to show where the resulting data are locate...

Re: Cloud cover or similar data - Modis Aqua
Miguel, No, those are all in-water products. If you get a file with some ocean color data and some missing data, it is common for the missing data to be due to clouds, but it can also be due to the gaps between the MODIS scanning swaths, high aerosol concentrations in the atmosphere (dust can do thi...

Re: Cloud cover or similar data - Modis Aqua
Miguel, Both MODIS-Aqua and MODIS-Terra have a cloud fraction product, as well as AIRS. I don't know the best way to incorporate it for use with SeaDAS. I have provided a link to the Giovanni system at the GES DISC (not OBDAAC) that will allow you to examine it. The higher resolution Level 2 files r...

Re: Developing a real-time environmental monitoring platform with EOSDIS Data
Youssef, Thanks for your message. I am somewhat surprised you didn't receive a reply before now. I think your post may have been overlooked because you did not designate a particular data center. To get started, I would examine this site: https://lance.modaps.eosdis.nasa.gov/ The data latency for va...

Subscribe to GES DISC Announcements mailing list
The Goddard Earth Sciences Data and Information Services Center (GES DISC) has created a new mailing list for announcements. It is expected that this will be a very low volume mailing list, normally limited to one message a month, a digest of GES DISC activities. This will include articles – data re...
