SeaWiFS. Estimate average chlorophyll

Volume 32 of the SeaWiFS Prelaunch Technical Memorandum series, where the binningscheme we use was first described, does indicate that data should be log-transformedbefore they are binned.  Even before the SeaWiFS mission got underway, however, the log transformations and maximum likelihood esti...

SeaWiFS. Estimate average chlorophyll

To get the variance, you need to divide the "sum_squared" value by the "weights"value and then subtract the square of the mean from that.NormanP.S.  Note that rounding errors can sometimes cause the variance to goslightly negative when you subtract the mean squared.  In...

SeaWiFS. Estimate average chlorophyll

Hi,To get the mean values you need to divide each "sum" value  by the corresponding"weights" value.  You will find those two data sets in two different places in thelevel-3 file.h5dump -A S19980011998031.L3b_MO_CHL.nc |grep -A 8 BinList|head -8      DATAS...

SeaDAS Seminars at NASA?

Hi Bianca,

The SeaDAS team is located at the Goddard Space Flight Center in Maryland,
not at Johnson in Houston.

You can find some webinars and SeaDAS tutorials that you may find useful here.

Image pixels

Hi Naveed,

HICO and MODIS have different spatial, spectral, and temporal resolutions,
but it is possible for both data sets to read the images pixel by pixel.
I'm afraid I don't know what you mean by "pins", however.

IP blocked

Jun,

Our systems folks say that "xx.xxx.xx.xx was temporarily
blocked yesterday. They were automatically unblocked this
morning at 5am."

If you are using accelerators or running aggressive scripts, you
may wish to tune them so as to avoid recurrence of the blocks.
