I don't think Wang(2007) considered the 500m MODIS-Aqua band 6 (1640nm) to be a usable option.  Unfortunately, 15 out of the 20 detectors of band 6 are (and have been) either broken or noisy.

I just checked and it seems to be working fine.  The issue is likely on your end.  Try it again, or try another browser, or perhaps clear your Chrome browser cache/cookies.
