Re: What's the difference between GPM_3IMERGHH_07 and GPM_3IMERGHH_06

Hello, There are substantial changes in IMERG v07, more than would practically be possible to list here. It would be instructive to follow to the Data Release Notes from our news release: https://disc.gsfc.nasa.gov/information/data-release?title=Release%20of%20IMERG%20Final%20products%20version%2007...

Re: [M2I6NPANA] Missing values in air temperature

Hello, MERRA-2 has not extrapolated data beneath the surface. The result is that lower pressure levels, such as 1000, 925, and 850 hPa may consist of missing data if it is below the surface. More information can be found in the FAQ of the MERRA-2 project page : https://gmao.gsfc.nasa.gov/reanalysis/...

Re: Magnitude and Unit of PM2.5, MERRA-2: Conversion Necessary?

Hello, The equation for PM2.5 is the same as what we have posted on our FAQ page, so that is correct. (https://gmao.gsfc.nasa.gov/reanalysis/MERRA-2/FAQ/) I think this should work equally well for 1 hourly or 1 monthly calculations. As to why “the pixel size of the original five parameters (dusmass2...

Re: Radiation

Hello, The best that we can do is PARDR+NIRDR to get direct radiation that is missing a part in the UV, the model developer I asked says that this should be ~96% of the direct SW radiation PARDR is in tavg1_2d_lfo_Nx (M2T1NXLFO): Land Surface Forcings NIRDR is in tavg1_2d_flx_Nx (M2T1NXFLX): Surface...
