SST vs Chlorophyll and glint
Hi all,I have a question about comparing what I see in browse.pl and what I get out of SeaDAS processing. For example:https://oceancolor.gsfc.nasa.gov/cgi/browse.pl?sub=level1or2&per=DAY&day=18412&prm=SST&set=10&ndx=0&mon=18383&sen=amod&rad=0&frc=0&n=34.804687...

What is the processing flow for VIIRS for L0 -> L1 -> L2 -> l2bin -> l3mapgen
Just for completeness, here are a few more points that might help someone else:1. for SNPP SST you need to add "proc_sst=1" to the command line to get it to generate SST output like: l2gen ifile=$name.L1A_SNPP.nc geofile=$name.GEO-M_SNPP.nc ofile=$name.sst.L2.nc l2prod=sst par=...

What is the processing flow for VIIRS for L0 -> L1 -> L2 -> l2bin -> l3mapgen
Thank you for the update.So I'm clear on this:1. resolution is ignored for viirs in l2gen, and on l2bin and l3mapgen they still determine the output resolution of the image, but that just spreads the coarser M-band data over more pixels.2. at the moment neither of the VIIRS support l2gen for SST...

I have gotten the true color to work by running l2gen with just the rhos_vvv product listed, (ie: don't include sst) and then binning that.BUT I have not figured out the problem with the SST processing:l2gen ifile=V2020079165400.L1A_JPSS1.nc geofile=V2020079165400.GEO-M_JPSS1.nc ofile=V202007916...

Thanks, both your responses were helpful and I have been able to get Chlor_a and Kd_490 output, but things blew up on the sst and true color with the following:...Loading SSES table from /u/oceandata/share/viirs/npp/cal/sst_sses_viirsn.v6.4.1.gt100counts.hdf5,6,4,4,4,2,7-E- /home/seadas/ocssw/src/l2...

Hi All,If the process in SeaDAS is documented for VIIRS, please point me to that, otherwise can someone outline the best processing flow for VIIRSnpp and VIIRSj1 to get from L0 -> ... -> l3mapgen?I looking to extract hires SST, OC, and true color geotiff files in the final step. I have the MODIS wor...

More questions on true color generation.The l3mapgen help page shows and example of using: rhos_670,rhos_555,rhos_412above says to use: rhos_469,rhos_555,rhos_645 (this generates a buddy brown that overlays the chlor_a, and sst data, but no clouds,water or land)I assume the numbers are frequen...

Am I correct in noting the scaling ONLY seems to be applied when applying a pallet? ie: apply_pal=1. If I generate a grayscale image with apply_pal=0 like:l3mapgen interp=area 'projection=+proj=merc +a=6378137 +b=6378137 +lat_ts=0.0 +lon_0=0.0 +x_0=0.0 +y_0=0 +k=1.0 +units=m +nadgrids=@null +wkt...
