- Question: Status of VIIRS Version 2 Vegetation Indices processing

Re: Status of VIIRS Version 2 Vegetation Indices processing
Hello,
Sorry for the delay. We reached out to the data provider, and the VI processing was allowed to be resumed and they are working there way back and through the gaps. They weren't sure on how long this would take, but the gaps should continually be reduced.
Thanks,
Brett

Re: Gedi Tree height question
It is the highest value of the L1B data, and how that is done is described in the Level-2A ATBD. Section 4.3.4 details how the canopy top (highest detected return) is found. Section 4.3.6 details how the ground (lowest detected mode) is found. Section 5 details how these waveform ranging points (in ...

Gedi Tree height question
I want to consult a GEDI worker about some GEDI data processing problems, and hope to get the help of the GEDI staff. I would like to know whether the tree height obtained through waveform decomposition is the average height within 25 meters of the light spot size or the highest value of the GEDI L1...

Re: MODIS to VIIRS transition
Hi, You are correct, that is the main premise on the how they produce the 8-day composite. They choose the best available from all 8 daily products. However, I think where the issue may be is that they do not use the QA layer to determine which daily acquisition they chose for the 8-day product. The...

Re: How to calculate NDVI from MODIS MOD09GQ?
Hello, First, please see Table 8 in the MOD09 User Guide, this is the bit index: https://lpdaac.usgs.gov/documents/925/MOD09_User_Guide_V61.pdf Bit 0-1 are the Modland QA bits and are probably the most important for your purpose. Pixels with a value of 00 in the 0-1 bits are considered very good qua...

Re: georeference of ECO2LSTE v001
Hi, It is not unusual to have more QA files then data files. Because the AppEEARS uses the Geolocation files in itzs search, so it will bring back the QAs for any file that intersects with your AOI. However, not every file will have all the different data products produced from it, but it will have ...

Re: georeference of ECO2LSTE v001
Hello, It can be somewhat problematic to work with without it being georectified. Could you take a look at our AppEEARS tool: https://appeears.earthdatacloud.nasa.gov AppEEARS makes data like Ecostress so uch easier to work with. You can subset, project and reformat just to name a few and you do not...

Re: Missing VJ109H1 scenes in Earthdata cloud
Hello Piyush,
Can you give it a try now? The data was reprocessed and for a while there were both the new and old version in the CMR, now those have been cleaned up. Thanks for your patience.
