l2bin error

Better to stick with the default Apple configuration until things are working since that is what most other people will have.  I haven't used homebrew in years, but I recall that the default was to install in a "private" area and create symbolic links under /usr/local.  ...

You can certainly encounter problems with environment settings when mixing shell programs.   There are some security issues with bash: CVE-2016-0634, CVE-2016-7543, CVE-2016-9401, CVE-2017-5932 were just mentioned in Ubuntu Security Notice USN-3294-1, but Apple is slow and doen't alway...

Like you, I was having network connection problems when installing the OCSSW Processing System on macOS El Capitan.  After installing, programs were failing with Segmentation fault: 11.   In fact, if $OCSSWROOT/run/var/modis/leapsec.dat is missing, I get:$ l2bin infile=$HOME/ocssw/ben...

OCSSW install : curl: (33) HTTP server doesn't seem to support byte ranges. Cannot resume.

You report "I can't tell if I am meeting requirements for curl, bash, python, and git because the link to those requirements is broken.  However, my versions are pretty recent, so I doubt these are the issue."  If you mean http requirements link, try this http+S requirements ...

Thanks for the explanation.   I see the checksums have changed from last week.   Does this reprocessing get a new improved number or is it included in R2014.0.1?

Data file search omits MODIS Aqua level-3 monthly binned SST for first 4 months of 2015

Using "File Search" on Friday for the period 2015-01-01--2015-04-30, pattern "A2015*.L3b_MO_SST.nc", level3-binned MODIS Aqua products, I was sure I saw sha1sums for all 4 missing files, but today, I noticed that April is missing from my saved sha1sums file.  Running "F...
