I have sorted through all the problem files and reprocessed them from the start. All succeeded.
It must have been the transient file system problem that caused the error.

I have tested the binaries on CentOS6.9 and CentOS7.5, and on the RHEL 6.8 cluster environment. I have not run into any issues so far.
