Re: Download data about an average SST in a specific period
Hello, Our Giovanni data system will suit your requirements! You may choose a designated region with a bounding box, and average specific periods of time, and also create seasonal and monthly averages over time. SST data from MODIS-Aqua is provided in several forms (11 and 4 micron, Day and Night). ...

Re: Request for Soil Moisture and Precipitation data
Hello, The NASA GES DISC has several datasets that may be useful to you. The resources to examine are the National Climate Assessment - Land Data Assimilation System (NCA-LDAS) and Global (GLDAS) datasets. What I am going to do is provide you with search links in the Giovanni system, which will allo...

GES DISC Announcement: Post-processing of GLDAS-2 data products
In October 2020, all 3-hourly and monthly GLDAS-2 data were post-processed with the MOD44W MODIS land mask. Previously, some grid boxes over inland water were considered as over land and, thus, had non-missing values. The post-processing corrected this issue and masked out all model output data over...

Follow-up: you do not need to send the images to the Help Desk. When I save the image to my system, I can view it at full resolution.

Thank you. I will inquire to the MERRA-2 group to see if they can assist. Using Giovanni, you can make a six-month average simply by making the Begin Date January and the End Date June, when using monthly data. This will average the data over the entire period. Please do me a favor. Send your attach...

These are interesting images. Is the source of the 77% number a citation of a reduction in shipping traffic? Note that MERRA-2 is a model, not actual observational data. Determining how the algorithm generates the values of the MERRA-2 variable would require more effort. I can ask our MERRA-2 expert...
