If you can provide a more detailed description of what you are attempting to calculate, we may be able to advise you and provide contacts with the relevant MERRA-2 scientists and developers. Reading your post, I am not clear on what you mean by "synthesize".

We do not archive that particular dataset, but it is based on MODIS data (NASA satellite instruments) and is produced under NASA funding. So it is very likely a reliable dataset.
