Re: SeaDAS 8.1.0 installation error
https://seadas.gsfc.nasa.gov/requirements/ says MacOS distributions include a suitable Java JRE, but that may be outdated. A recent JRE such as the one in the link you mention will be widely used, so any Big Sur problems should be found and fixed. SeaDAS uses the SNAP Java GUI, but ESA SNAP support...

Re: (Log file directory is not accessible to write) Install Seadas 8.1.0, WSL, Windows 10, OCSSW
I also have ESA SNAP installed on my Window 10 system. For SeaDAS 8.1, saw the "log file directory is not accessible to write" message once. Using the Help menu sent me to the ESA SNAP log directory: %HOMEPATH%\AppData\Roaming\SNAP\var\log I found the SeaDAS 8.1 log file directory at %HOME...

Re: PAR L3 product - Unexpected patterns
Gniwiii, thank you for providing the link to the anc data. It seems the primary sea ice product is NSIDC0081. Could this mask the resulting PAR product because it fails in this area? Also, I am not sure this is what you are implying, but the square-like patterns are much larger than the NSIDC0081 s...

Re: l2bin/l3bin/l3mapgen distortion for non-standard data product
It still isn't clear to me whether the problem is that l2bin mishandled a 64-bit array or you stored a 32-bit array but labelled it as 64-bit data. The latter seems more likely as the dimensions of the array would be smaller by a factor of 2. Remote sensing often uses 32-bit arrays for geophysical d...

I would be very grateful if I could have again your effort with this pending. I retraced the steps carefully (Please, observe below STEPS). [...] 11. Editing SeaDAS Client Configuration (--> C:\Users\negri\.seadas8\etc) #SNAP configuration 'seadas' #Wed Oct 13 17:38:14 BRT 2021 seadas.ocssw.locatio...

Re: l2bin/l3bin/l3mapgen distortion for non-standard data product
Hi, I just wanted to update on this if anyone in the future comes across a similar issue. As gnwiii commented, if l2bin/l3bin/l3mapgen are working, the problem isn't with the xml file where I added the new product/algorithm. Following gnwiii's suggestion, I used gdalinfo to inspect the netcdf l2 fi...

1) "Did you try to run install_ocssw in Windows?" No, I din't. 2) "You can start the SeaDAS GUI using the Windows Start Menu or from a command line. These can give different environments." I start the SaaDAS GUI using the Windows Start Menu 3) "You need to understand the pu...

Hi, Gnwiii, for your questions, please, see below. 1) The message below come up when I ingest the OLCI image (Seadas GUI --> l2gen) "# WARNING!!! Mission directory 'C:\home\negri\ocssw\share\olci' does not exist" This could be due to running bash from a non-WSL package (rtool40, cygwin, W...

Re: l2bin/l3bin/l3mapgen distortion for non-standard data product
Thank you for the reply. I am pretty sure I had a used the get_product_info command after editing the product.xml file to see if it was added, but I should double check to see how it fully compares with the standard chla product. If the .xml is bad, the binning and mapping would complain, so I susp...

Re: l2bin/l3bin/l3mapgen distortion for non-standard data product
A number of years ago I was able to add a non-standard product to NASA level-2 files and did not encounter problems with mapping. My guess is that the xml file is not the cause. Looking at the NetCDF header with "ncdump -h" for differences between NASA chl variables and the new variable mi...
