The VIIRSJ1 SST/SST3 products are still being evaluated. They will be orderable soon.
There are currently no plans to produce SST from VIIRSJ2.

we use the GEOS-IT as our NRT ancillary data source and MERRA2 for the refined. As such, we don't plan to obtain the full GEOS-IT data set.

There was a corrupted version of that file distributed recently. Try updating your LUTs.

can you run the umask command in the shell where you are running the installer. It should be 0022, 022 or 0002.

Can you provide a specific example? The .x. in the file name means that it is an extract and not the full original file.
Can you run the 'file' command on the downloaded file and see if it is an html file? If so, open it in a browser to see the error message.

The V2 GIBS imagery were reprocessed from March 5, forward on 7/5 so they can be picked up.
The period between launch and Mar 5 will not be included in V2.
