It looks like you need to set your OCSSWROOT environment variable. The instructions here https://oceancolor.gsfc.nasa.gov/docs/ocssw/index.html are obsolete. Please compile ocssw following the instructions here https://seadas.gsfc.nasa.gov/build_ocssw/

These could be typos on the forum post, but I see errors in the filenames you are using.
AQUA_MODIS20180220.L3b.DAY.CHL.nc should be --> AQUA_MODIS.20180220.L3b.DAY.CHL.nc
AQUA.MODIS.20210201_20210228.L3b.MO.CHL.nc should be --> AQUA_MODIS.20210201_20210228.L3b.MO.CHL.nc

Yes, our filenames are changing as each mission is reprocessed to R2022, so this will happen over time. Aqua mission is completed (so new filenaming convention is in place). Next is Terra, and so on until all missions we want to reprocess are done.
