Brett, This Earthdata instructions for Python listed here no longer work: https://urs.earthdata.nasa.gov/documentation/for_users/data_access/python I'm having the same authentication problem with NSIDC and GSFC downloads, so this is probably due to some global Earthdata changes rather than recent LP...

The data for MOD16A2.061 is available from 2021-01-01

Where as for MOD16A2.006 it's available from 2001-01-01

Is this expected?

The location is 39.502 N 57.8569 E . The projection is MODIS sinusoidal.

Images on other dates don't have this problem.

Brett - the granule is /namespace/gestalt/modis/MOD09GQ.006/2010.07.01/MOD09GQ.A2010182.h20v03.006.2015208185542.hdf, taken from LP DAAC

For the 2010_07_01 MOD09GQ image, in both v6 and v61, there is a large shift relative to the basemap around 39.5E 57.8N See screenshot where the river Volga on the basemap is shifted relative to the image.
