Re: Negative values in SO2 column amount

The negative SO2 values are artifacts of the retrieval process. They are usually associated with retrievals over highly reflective surfaces. The OMSO2.003 ReadMe has more detail than is contained in the OMSO2e ReadMe. https://aura.gesdisc.eosdis.nasa.gov/data/Aura_OMI_Level2/OMSO2.003/doc/README.OMS...

Re: Data Subset for OMHCHO: OMI/Aura Formaldehyde (HCHO) Total Column 1-orbit L2 Swath 13x24 km V003

The variables 'PixelCornerLatitudes' and 'PixelCornerLongitudes' contain the coordinates of the corners of each pixel. The corner locations fall on either side of the pixel centers which are defined in the geolocation variables 'Longitude' and 'Latitude' which have dimensions nTimes and nXtrack . Ex...

Re: Reanalysis data for 36 point locations

The NASA Goddard Earth Sciences Data and Information Services Center (GES DISC), provides MERRA-2 data. You may download time series at your specific point locations through the GDS ( GrADS Data Server) service. Here is the How-to document that provides an example: https://disc.gsfc.nasa.gov/informa...

Re: Surface windspeed in tavg1_2d_flx_Nx (M2T1NXFLX): Surface Flux Diagnostics

From the GES DISC / GSFC Subject Matter Expert on MERRA-2 data: "The Variable called SPEED (and its companion SPEEDMAX) are computed from the lowest model level data in the 3D data, and saved as a 2D variable. This is the windspeed needed to compute surface fluxes in the surface layer parameter...

I am using GLDAS L4 data from Noah and the netCDF .nc4 files.
Hello. My fellow staff members would like to know what you meant by "connecting datasets" in your original question; what is your goal? They may be able to offer more specific advice.

Re: General Guides for Windows?

We would be glad to see your method here on the Forum. Regarding general advice, we saw that you can use Cygwin. Cdo has a lot of functionality: https://code.mpimet.mpg.de/projects/cdo/ . Some of our staff members find it is more useful than nco. Gdal has some good tools as well. https://gdal.org/pr...

Re: what are the units of measurements for TRMM-3B42b7 and 3B43v7?

Dear TRMM user, The units for precipitation in both 3B42 and 3B43 are, mm/hr. For the 3B42 daily, mm. I would suggest reading their documents in their dataset landing pages (listed below) to become more familiar with the datasets, https://disc.gsfc.nasa.gov/datasets/TRMM_3B42_7/summary https://disc....
