Question: L2 Flags being produced instead of selected bands

Re: L2 Flags being produced instead of selected bands

Providing l2gen a parameter list that includes spectral products without the wavelength specifier (e.g. Lt vs Lt_412 or Lt_nnn) indicates to the program that you want a three dimensional output array for the product (pixel, line, wavelength). The currently distributed version of l2bin does not recog...

Re: seadas l2gen

That's because those products are not supported. For taua_869 use aot_869, the alias taua isn't happy. gsm01 is just gsm and clark was yanked out of service years ago.

Question: MODIS L1 to L2

Re: MODIS L1 to L2

Kinda need to know where you're looking...Is your region of interest still the Chesapeake Bay? If so, I just ran a query using the L1/2 browser and for 2003 there were 512 granules that matched. 2019 there were 509 granules that matched. That doesn't jive with your report of 80 missing days. In fact...

Re: MODIS L1 to L2

Please provide the dates and region of interest. In general, there are days, or portions of days for which the sensor was not collecting data for one reason or another. If you can provide more information about the specifics of the data you believe to be missing, we may be able to provide an explana...

Re: OLCI Data Download

Without an example, I can't say. Do you have a specific file or at least a time period for a search that resulted in an erroneous spatial retrieval?

Question: OLCI Chlorophyll from OCSSW

Re: OLCI Chlorophyll from OCSSW

As with *most* sensors supported by l2gen, the chlor_a product is a blend of the Hu et al., and OCx algorithms. See https://oceancolor.gsfc.nasa.gov/atbd/chlor_a/
Yes, for OLCI, the OCx part would be OC4.

Re: MODIS geographic coordinate system

Zach, While the Level-2 product includes a lat/lon for each pixel, it is not mapped. Looks like R is assuming a regular grid based on the geographic extents of the file. The data are very much NOT on a regular grid. Perhaps for your R processing you'll want to map the data prior to reading them (or ...

Re: Chlorophyll_a data retrieval

Well, xarray is great for multi-dimensional array data, not so keen on the single dimensional compound data structure of the bin files. It can be read with Python and the netCDF4 module, but xarray probably can't interpret it out of the box. Here's what's contained in a typical bin file: group: leve...

Re: seadas ocssw

Make sure your system has (and SeaDAS uses) at least the minimum requirements listed here:
https://seadas.gsfc.nasa.gov/requirements/

Python 3.5 is less than the minimum required 3.6, so I suspect your requests module is also too old.

Re: seadas ocssw

The SeaDAS processing scripts were intended for a single user system. The issue you are running into is due to the fact that there is a local sqlite database that is created when the ancillary files are queried and that file has permissions set for a different user. The scripts do allow for user-spe...
