Processing using l2gen: several questions

Hello, I am using l2gen to generate L2 files for some specific variables. An example of my linux command line code: l2gen ifile=$L1BFILE geofile=$GEOFILE ofile=$L2FILE \ l2prod1='senz,l2_flags,chl_gsm,chlor_a' \ 1) When I use ncdump / ncdisp on my freshly created file, I can see the line: "mask...

Re: Seadas batch processing: Extracting l2flags and szen

The name "szen" is ambiguous (sun/sensor), so you need to find the product name. You can dump and ASCII xml format file with Actually you could not be more right, I did a mistake, the real name is senz (sensor zenith angle), so my first problem is solved, thank you. I already planned to u...

Re: Seadas batch processing: Extracting l2flags and szen

Thanks for your answer George. I was playing with the SeaBASS SST data set and we have access to l2flags with this data set, which is why I wanted to have access to it with my own matchup data set. If I am right, the satellite information inside SeaBASS comes from a 10x10 km grid around the in situ ...

Seadas batch processing: Extracting l2flags and szen

Hello, I am batch processing some MODIS Aqua data (L1A to L3M, Rrs with the basic atmospheric correction) and I would like to include the szen and l2_flags. I have 2 issues : 1) When I add szen, nothing happens and an error is returned saying szen does not exist. "-E- /home/seadas/ocssw/src/l2g...

Re: Co-located SST data set

Hi again, Edit : I got most of the answers from playing with the data, I would just like a confirmation for: - I can not find the depth of each in situ sample in the header, are all the data supposed to come from the 0-2m surface? - Does the insitu_at correspond to atmospheric temperature ? - What d...

Co-located SST data set

Hello,

I wonder if a website refers to ocean color matchup data sets like Seabass / NOMAD etc. but for the sea surface temperature ?
I have my own data set but for MODIS-A daylight only and wanted to add some nocturnal data. However any sensors are welcome.

Question: How good are SST4/SST11 algorithms ?

Re: How good are SST4/SST11 algorithms ?

Thanks for your the answer George. You are right, my good definition would be a distribution following the 1:1 line when we compare in situ and remote data, with something like +/- 3 times the % error associated to the in situ measurement. I would be happy with a SST algorithm returning +/- 1 °C com...
