Question: Rayleigh corrected reflectance

Re: Rayleigh corrected reflectance

No, Rayleigh corrected reflectance is not one of the products available from the OB.DAAC. However, if you need this product you can download the Level 1 data and use the l2gen code distributed with SeaDAS to easily create it. The l2gen product to produce is called rhos and can be called for the wave...

Re: Negative POC values Modis Aqua

Something isn't right with the way you are reading the data. The minimum unscaled (non-fill) value in that file (A20031522003181.L3m_MO_POC_poc_4km.nc) is -31943, which when converted to the geophysical value is 11.4 mg/m^3...which is the minimum POC value I found in the file. Even if you were to sc...

Question: Negative POC values Modis Aqua

Re: Negative POC values Modis Aqua

The minimum POC value in that file is 8.3999. The data are stored as a scaled integer and must have the scaling applied to get the geophysical value. For this file the scale_factor is 0.2 and the add_offset is 6400. Most netCDF readers should apply this for you, but if yours does not, you would need...

Question: Some HawkEye data not downloadable

Re: Some HawkEye data not downloadable

You may have noticed that there was a one second difference in the time element of the filename. Some of the data prior to the commissioning date were reprocessed (code changes to address issues) and this reprocessing resulted in a slightly different start time (and thus filename). When a file is re...

Re: Unable to access PACE L1 data

The simulated PACE L1B data are currently being regenerated. Once that process and evaluation is complete the data will be restored to the data distribution page.

Degraded Ocean Color data

We were recently alerted to an apparent issue with the ozone ancillary data used in ocean color data processing. The issue is anomalously high ozone concentrations in the region between about 30S and 50S corresponding to the AURA-OMI ground track: N202119900_O3_AURAOMI_24h_ozone.png This issue seems...

Re: Low reflectances after l2gen processing of VIIRS SDR from CSPP

Silvia, Since you got a result, it's not that l2gen is no longer compatible with the SDR input, rather the issue is that the on-orbit calibration differs between the IDPS (and thus CSPP) processing and the NASA VIIRS L1 processing (as would any vicarious calibration, which I see you disabled by sett...

Re: AURAOMI ozone files with anomalous values

Jacques,
Thanks for the note. Yes, it appears that there is an issue with the ozone source. We are investigating.
