Question: L3 Browser extract data error

Re: L3 Browser extract data error

The error:
Input listing file: "" not found.
...is the key.

Make sure your input list file does not have any blank lines. The code will try to read that blank line as a file and fail exactly as you see it failing.

Sean
...yeah, we probably should fix the code to deal with blank lines...

Re: missing (?) scripts in our SeaDAS 8.1.0 ocssw installation

Jacques,
Yes, as you discovered we have moved the scripts into bin and (for most) removed the .py extension.

Sorry if this caused you any confusion!

Re: Question about Lt results of Landsat8 OLI

Roxani, The l2gen code uses the reflectance formula and computes Lt from that. Similar to the approach described here: https://www.usgs.gov/core-science-systems/nli/landsat/using-usgs-landsat-level-1-data-product There is also a correction applied for the various focal plane modules and an overall v...

Question: Optical Water Type (OWT) product in Seadas/l2gen

Re: Optical Water Type (OWT) product in Seadas/l2gen

The Rrs above to below calcluation is based on the Lee approach as used in QAA:
rrs(λ) = Rrs(λ)/(0.52 + 1.7 Rrs(λ))

That likely isn't the issue...but not going to say it definitely isn't ;)

Now that we are aware that there is an issue (thanks!) it will (eventually) be fixed.

Question: How do I know which OCSSW branches and tags are available?

Re: How do I know which OCSSW branches and tags are available?

No, v3.1.0-rc1 was for the VIIRS submodule. The tags you should look at are the ones that start with a capital 'V'. The latest is V2021.2.

'T' tags are test tags that may eventually be promoted to a 'V' tag.

Re: L3 Browser extract data error

Ah, I see the problem. The entire mission composite, is, well, the entire mission (up to the point we last made it). The browser is confused when you enter a date range, since the user (i.e. you) can't change the date range for the entire mission composite. We'll have to think about how to make that...

Re: Optical Water Type (OWT) product in Seadas/l2gen

Supported? Hmmm..well, it's not not supported :D It's not a standard product, so we don't generally pay attention to it. No substantial changes have been made to the algorithm since it was implemented...although it has changed. Perhaps one of those "inconsequential" changes wasn't so incon...

Re: Extract L1A MODIS SeaDAS 8.1.0 OCSSW

Dirk, The OBC file is always created by the L1B code, but by default the wrapper script deletes it...unless you check the "keep-obc" box (or pass the script --keep-obc). If you accidentally checked the obc box AND the del_okm box (which tells the script to delete the 1km output file - the ...
