Re: CERES (FLASHFlux Gridded Fluxes – Level 3) data prior to 03/2022

Hello @swesemeyer

There is not a direct replacement for the NRT products once they are archived, but the Terra-Aqua SYN1deg-Day would be the CERES product that most people use for the surface fluxes.

Re: CERES (FLASHFlux Gridded Fluxes – Level 3) data prior to 03/2022

Hello swesemeyer Since CERES FLASHFLUX is a near-real-time (NRT) collection, the granules are usually made non-public after ~30 to 60 days or are sometimes retired earlier if a granule from the equivalent Science Quality collection corresponding to the same time and footprint as the NRT file is made...

Re: VIIRS IR data and atmospheric concentration

Dear user capnbob0618 , Doing retrievals of atmospheric composition (gases) requires spectroscopy, which requires measuring at a high spectral resolution. Imagers such as VIIRS observe in wavelength bands of 20-40 nm in width, which are much too wide to pick out narrow absorption lines of different ...
