I haven't heard reports of any system issues over the weekend that would account for the internal server error, so hope this was just a system glitch. Please let us know if you're still encountering the error.

Using the ASF API (https://docs.asf.alaska.edu/api/basics/) or Python Search Module (https://docs.asf.alaska.edu/asf_search/basics/) are programmatic options that allow for large volume downloads.

The only free high-resolution DEM I am aware of is the 1-meter DEM from the US Geological Survey. But it only covers the continental United States, which does not serve your needs.
