Re: netCDF data download

Dear Mursel, This How-To Document may be of use to you. I do not think you can subset with country/state shapefiles with this method, but it does allow definition of a region with lat/lon coordinates. https://disc.gsfc.nasa.gov/information/howto?keywords=API&title=How%20to%20Use%20the%20Web%20Se...

Re: Status of Aqua and GPM

From the Precipitation Processing System (PPS) at Goddard Space Flight Center: "Dear Science User, The GPM spacecraft experienced an anomaly that caused an interruption of all science instrument data beginning on 8/19/2020 around 12:00 UT. GMI instrument data restarted collection on 8/26/2020 a...

Re: Status of Aqua and GPM

Regarding GPM: On August 19, 2020 at approximately 11 UTC, the GPM Mission Operations Center (MOC) stopped receiving data from the satellite. While the satellite and the instruments are healthy, the Flight Operations Team (FOT) is working to safely reestablish nominal operations. Return to data coll...

Re: Earth Reflectivity Data

Hello, What TOMS variable(s) are you using? The MERRA-2 dataset at the GES DISC has surface albedo data. We also have data from subsequent missions to TOMS -- OMI, OMPS, and TROPOMI, which may have data variables similar to what you are using with TOMS. And CERES data has other Earth radiation data ...

Re: Hovmoller graph

Hello, This is a temporary problem that the Giovanni development team is addressing, and it will be fixed shortly. As a work-around, you can plot a regular map of the same region that is used for the Hovmoller plot using the same legend (color palette), download the image, and use an image editing t...

Re: Negative values in SO2 column amount

The negative SO2 values are artifacts of the retrieval process. They are usually associated with retrievals over highly reflective surfaces. The OMSO2.003 ReadMe has more detail than is contained in the OMSO2e ReadMe. https://aura.gesdisc.eosdis.nasa.gov/data/Aura_OMI_Level2/OMSO2.003/doc/README.OMS...

Re: Data Subset for OMHCHO: OMI/Aura Formaldehyde (HCHO) Total Column 1-orbit L2 Swath 13x24 km V003

The variables 'PixelCornerLatitudes' and 'PixelCornerLongitudes' contain the coordinates of the corners of each pixel. The corner locations fall on either side of the pixel centers which are defined in the geolocation variables 'Longitude' and 'Latitude' which have dimensions nTimes and nXtrack . Ex...

Re: Reanalysis data for 36 point locations

The NASA Goddard Earth Sciences Data and Information Services Center (GES DISC), provides MERRA-2 data. You may download time series at your specific point locations through the GDS ( GrADS Data Server) service. Here is the How-to document that provides an example: https://disc.gsfc.nasa.gov/informa...
