Hi Zhou,
It is recommended to use the Cloud State, as that is more definitive. Also, It contains, cloud mask from MOD35 and cloud/snow/aerosol/fire/shadow etc as determined by the reflectance algorithm. Hence users are encouraged to use the state flag from the MOD09GA.
Thanks,
Brett

Re: Unable to download certain GEDI L1B granules
Hi Q, Please remove the spaces and the quotation marks and I think it will work, with one condition. I discovered that Earthdata will only allow 5 granules at a time to be searched this way. When I put the entire list in it gave me this error: Error retrieving granules The query contained [26] condi...

Re: Download script for MODIS/Terra LST Daily 1km has different download URLS from collection granules shown
Hi, Can I point you in a little different direction. We have seen this issue with the Earthdata Search before when users try to subset. We are the LPDAAC, so the data comes from us, but the Earthdata Search is out of our control. Can you try our AppEEARS tool: https://appeears.earthdatacloud.nasa.go...

Re: MCD15A3H
Hi, LAI_Charts_China.PNG I processed February 1 through June 30 from 2012-2023 in our AppEEARS tool and they seem consistent, so at least there is no dramatic spike or drop from year to year, but the highest value I see is 2.3. The vast majority are between 0.5 and 1.5, so the issue is should they b...

Hello,
Could you send the search parameters you are using and also copy and paste the script? We would like to emulate exactly what what you are doing.
Thanks,
Brett

Re: MCD15A3H
Hello,
Could you give me some specific examples. Like the H/V Lat/long range and date, then we could look at specific examples. Also, did you get a chance to look at the QC bits to see if those would indicate what may be wrong with the pixels?
Thanks,
Brett

Hi Zhou,
Yes, that is what I would suggest, treating them like fill value. Certainly don't use those particular pixels for scientific research.
Thanks,
Brett

Hi, Yes, this is somewhat common especially in daily data, practically every tile has some of these outliers. They should not be used, they are erroneous data. Please see the statement below which gives more specifics on why this is the case: The "anomalies" that you've identified, e.g. ne...

Thanks for the tile info Hawthorne. I have found those values in many random files since you brought that to our attention. We have contacted the folks at LDOPE who help develop the products and also specialize in the QC. As soon as we hear back from them I will let you know. Thanks for your patienc...

Hello,
Thanks for bringing this to our attention, do you have a specific Granule ID, we would like to show this to the MODIS Science Team and make them aware of this. Our first thought is maybe the bits got inverted, but either way something is amiss.
Thanks,
Brett
