Re: Cloud cover or similar data - Modis Aqua

Miguel, Both MODIS-Aqua and MODIS-Terra have a cloud fraction product, as well as AIRS. I don't know the best way to incorporate it for use with SeaDAS. I have provided a link to the Giovanni system at the GES DISC (not OBDAAC) that will allow you to examine it. The higher resolution Level 2 files r...

Re: Developing a real-time environmental monitoring platform with EOSDIS Data

Youssef, Thanks for your message. I am somewhat surprised you didn't receive a reply before now. I think your post may have been overlooked because you did not designate a particular data center. To get started, I would examine this site: https://lance.modaps.eosdis.nasa.gov/ The data latency for va...

Subscribe to GES DISC Announcements mailing list

The Goddard Earth Sciences Data and Information Services Center (GES DISC) has created a new mailing list for announcements. It is expected that this will be a very low volume mailing list, normally limited to one message a month, a digest of GES DISC activities. This will include articles – data re...

Re: Number Concentration from MERRA-2

Hello,

This is the reply from our MERRA-2 data team:
"The current MERRA-2 aerosol model doesn’t include aerosol-cloud interactions, and thus doesn’t produce the parameters such as the aerosol number concentrations."

Re: Magnitude and Unit of PM2.5, MERRA-2: Conversion Necessary?

From our data specialist: "I am glad that my previous response was helpful. The MERRA-2 reanalysis, including aerosol reanalysis, is not pure observation. It results from assimilating various observations into a model, i.e., the NASA GEOS model. Thus, you can use PM2.5 from the dataset M2TMNXAE...

Re: Magnitude and Unit of PM2.5, MERRA-2: Conversion Necessary?

From our data specialist: "Regarding the question posted at https://forum.earthdata.nasa.gov/viewtopic.php?t=4594&p=16264#p16264 , your method for calculating the monthly mean BCSMASS (M2TMNXAER) from the hourly mean (M2T1NXAER) is incorrect. The two datasets, i.e., M2T1NXAER for hourly mea...
