How to convert airborne radiance to reflectance?
Dear EARTHDATA Forum, I would like to ask one question that how to convert the airborne measured radiance data to the reflectance data? It is known that the satellite measured radiance data can be converted to the reflectance data following this equation: ρTOA = πLTOA/(cosθsF0) Is this formular appl...

Rayleigh optical thickness for airborne sensors
Dear EARTHDATA Forumn, I learned that NASA Ocean Color provides Rayleigh optical thickness for satellite sensors (VIIRS, SeaWiFS and MODIS) at different bands. My question is that is it possible to interpolate the Rayleigh optical thickness from a satellite altitude to an airborne sensor altitude, f...

Re: Water vapour, ozone and aerosol data from MERRA-2 datasets
Hi Jimacker, Thank you very much for your info. I want the reanalysis data of AOT_550, total precipitable water vapor (in cm unit) and total ozone (in cm-atm) as input for a radiative transfer model for atmospheric correction. In this sense, do you know which ozone product from the MERRA-2 datasets ...

Aerosol type from satellite data
Dear EARTHDATA FORUM, I wonder how to interprete the Aerosol_Type_Land variable from the MYD04_L2 product? Generally, the aerosol types include maritime, continental, and etc. But I did not find such information from this variable. In addition, I want to know the aerosol type over a coastal water re...

Re: Water vapour, ozone and aerosol data from MERRA-2 datasets
Hi jimacker, Thank you very much for your reply. I am sorry for your confusion. Actually, I already got TO3, TQV, TOTEXTTAU, and TOTSCATAU data from the MERRA-2 datasets. But I was not sure how do these data correspond to the total amount of water vapour and ozone and AOT_550 which are the data I ne...

Satellite and airborne atmosphere and aerosol data
Hello!
For the satellite products of water vapour and aerosol optical thickness at 550 nm (AOT_550) data, is there any way to convert them to the data at the airborne altitude which is about 2 km?
Thank you in advance.
Kind regards,
Mengmeng.
