smigen VS l3mapgen?
> Why???
Floating point math and output vs input driven mapping.
If you want absolute consistency, then yes, you'd want to process all with l3mapgen. Is it a problem if you don't? I wouldn't say so.

Using the level-2 browser you can also request data to be extracted to your region of interest (assuming your region is smaller than a typical 5-min granule).Additionally, if you need to acquire data for the future you can set up a data subscription (either extracted or non-extracted).If you're real...

MODIS-Aqua Data in Land
Not using l2gen. The atmospheric correction algorithm is designed to work over the ocean. A primary assumption is that the signal in the NIR bands is entirely due to the atmosphere (or the portion from the surface - water surface - can be estimated and removed). This is not t...

Kim,
Query for a smaller time period or a smaller region. Searching for 15 years of 5 minute granules over such a large region takes a long time (with the current browser DB code). The query is being terminated because it it exceeding the timeout limit on the server.

Landsat 8 GSM and GIOP chl difference
Jun,
Both GSM and GIOP are semi-analytical models employing non-linear inversion. You should not expect that both will result in the same valid retrieval count. One may retrieve a result where the other fails to converge.

Documentation for polfiles and xcalfiles
Brian,The xcal file contains a set of temporally varying polynomial coefficients for each detector and mirror side. The polynomial expression that uses the coefficients is based on the pixel number. All of the coefficients for a time step/detector/mirror side are necessary to evaluate th...
