VIIRS-JPSS1 OCSSW commands L1A to L2

"...don't forget to include par=V2020099121800.L1A_JPSS1.nc.anc ...without that, you've pulled the ancillary files but didn't tell l2gen to use them"

Huh.  I've been doing it wrong for a couple of years now.
Thanks for the heads up.

Damaged MODISA L2 file

Hi Marco,

That scene and the one before it and the one after it are corrupt (perhaps during
transmission to the ground station).  Sometimes we get better data later from
our providers.

Level-2 Coordinates

The latitude and longitude arrays stored in each level-2 file store the locations of every
pixel in the image data, so no, you do not need to re-project to do your match-ups.

L1B files : Binning and format

Since level-1 refers to the storage of radiometer data in sensor-viewcoordinates (i.e. scan-line and pixel), it is not possible (by definition) tocombine individual scenes into a daily level-1 file. You can, however, bin individual scenes and combine them into adaily level-3 format. For most of our pr...

No new VIIRSx RF and MODISx QL since 2020-04-14

I will leave it to others to say why recent MODIS products have not advancedbeyond preliminary quicklook versions, but I do see that fairly recent VIIRSproducts have.  For example, for this file.https://oceandata.sci.gsfc.nasa.gov/cgi/getfile/V2020126055400.L2_SNPP_OC.ncncdump -h V2020126055400...

No new VIIRSx RF and MODISx QL since 2020-04-14

Hi Julien,

The delay for refined products does not seem unusual to me,
but I am seeing MODIS quicklook products.
