l2gen calibration options
This is an evaluation option, not a calibration option. It is a cloud mask derived for a particular evaluation processing stream. It is much more complicated than the simplistic default cloud mask. As the help message implies, it is intended for use with a HABs (harmful algal bloom...

viirsn processing after SeaDAS 7.4 upgrade
As Brock noted this was not related to the v7.4 update. It's a long and boring story, but the synopsis is this. We've updated the VIIRS processing code in our production environment to a new version, however the "var" tree is shared and as the Highlander knows, there ca...

adjusting band centres to match band from in situ instrument
The satellite retrievals we distribute (and replicated via l2gen distributed with SeaDAS) have been "corrected" to an 11nm wide square band-pass centered on the sensor nominal wavelength. If your instrument is hyperspectral, you can convolve the in situ data with a similar 11nm square bandp...

MODIS Processing has stopped working
Looks like your polar wander data are out of date:
run
and put it in your $OCSSWROOT/run/var/modis/ directory.

run
update_luts.py aqua
, or manually pull down the utcpole.dat fileand put it in your $OCSSWROOT/run/var/modis/ directory.

MODIS Processing has stopped working
Thomas, No, nothing changed (that I'm aware). When geogen_modis fails, the script leaves behind several files for diagnosis. You can force this behavior with the boolean --log option. There are three files with the pattern Log*.<GEOfile>, LogReport, LogUser and LogStatus. The LogStatus...

SeaDAS 7.4 OC Processor install from GUI
Couple of points,
First, SeaDAS does not currently support the OCSSW processors on Windows.
Second, python2.7 is still the version the scripts are based on, but without the OCSSW processors, python is not need it for Windows installations.

Frequently invalid first bowtie in MODIS Aqua L2 QL (NRT) products
Julien, The QL (quick look) products use non-optimal attitude/ephemeris data. QL products should not be used for quantitative scientific analysis. These products are only produced (as the moniker implies) as a quick look at the data. Once the definitive attitude/ephemeris data are ...

How to calculate the transmittance according to the aerosol Luts(dtran_a,dtran_b...)
Not a task for the average user, but should you wish to do so, you can get an idea of what you would need to do by looking at the l2gen source code. See the
