This is because search will pick all granules (complete 5-min swaths) which include your defined area of interest.

Yes, that is possible. If you reach the limit of user's quota of order size you may not order until you release/cancel some of your orders.

It is possible that there is some problem with your account setting. You may check with other people at MCST/VCST if they are having same issue.

I just tested ladsweb search and order interface by ordering MODIS L1B data (MOD021KM) it worked without issue so website is working normally. If you want us to investigate further send us your query parameter.
