Hi there, I processed one Landsat 8 scene and generated chlorophyll maps using GSM and GIOP algorithms. But there are big differences in terms of valid pixels. Please see the attached maps. From my understanding, it is reasonable for the difference in values of chlorophyll from the two algorithms. But by implementing the same flags, valid pixels from the two maps should be the same. Did I miss anything? Thanks. Jun
Both GSM and GIOP are semi-analytical models employing non-linear inversion. You should not expect that both will result in the same valid retrieval count. One may retrieve a result where the other fails to converge.
