MODIS/Aqua Reprocessing Version 2014.1

by monger » Thu Sep 07, 2017 9:07 am America/New_York

Hi -- Brian Franz mentioned at his Ocean Science talk in Lisbon that a reprocessing of the MODIS Aqua data (Version 2014.1) would be coming pretty soon. I was wondering if there was a good estimate of when the reprocessing would occur?  Thanks!!!

Bruce,

An estimate (although far from a good one) would be no earlier than mid-October.  We are still polishing the cannon ball...uh...revising the calibration.
That is just about done, but there's a few other ducks to line up before we kick off the reprocessing.

Sean, could you provide an update on this? I'm trying to decide whether to proceed with the present version or wait.

The cannonball has just about the right patina...There still a few ducks to line up before we fire the carronade at them.
I maintain my position of not providing a firm date.  Could be a couple weeks, could be a couple months.  The "hard" part
(the calibration) is done, but the "easy" parts can take more time than one would like.
