Hi everyone, I am new guy in SeaDAS, and I now have a problem about spatial resolution related to level- 3 binning. I am using SeaDAS 7.4 and processing GOCI data. Why when I use level- 3 binning function to generate daily Map of TSS from 8 images with original spatial resolution (0.5 km) the result often haves parallel dot lines? However, when the map was resampled by lower spatial resolution (1km or 2km) the result was quite good? Could you help me to explain what is this?

The current (soon to be updated) binning software uses each level-2 pixel exactly once. The "resolution" figure is for a pixel directly below the sensor. Due to the earth's curvature, the "footprint" of a pixel becomes larger toward the edge of the pass. This creates the a Moire pattern of holes when the binned file is mapped. Binning multiple passes tends to fill in the holes, but you may still see them in areas where only a few passes were cloud free. The current algorithm simplifies statistical calculations, but the new version will provide an option to assign "fractional" weight to all the bins in the footprint so gaps will be filled without "overweighting" edge pixels.
