Atmospheric correction of NIR-SWIR method

by hxczjh123 » Tue Apr 03, 2018 6:58 am America/New_York

Hello everyone,
Wang(2007) proposed NIR-SWIR method using turbid water index.I don't know why they use 1240nm and 750nm to calculate Tind(750,1240)?
Why not use 1640nm and 750nm:Tind(750,1640)? I think the signal noise ratio at 1640nm is higher than 1240nm for MODIS.
Thank you so much for your help!

I don't think Wang(2007) considered the 500m MODIS-Aqua band 6 (1640nm) to be a usable option.  Unfortunately, 15 out of the 20 detectors of band 6 are (and have been) either broken or noisy.
