About Aqua bands

Hi Forum,

I'm currently processing Aqua imagery on a daily basis and sometimes I have noted that some bands appears. Is there anything I can do to remove or at least decrease it values? As you can see in the image below our system calculates AFAI from Rhos bands and some band values can be in the range of the algea detection.

Those stripes are a result of imperfect MODIS detector calibrations.  They tend to be most pronounced in areas of sun glint.  I have had success in reducing the striping by Fourier transforming the image and masking out the unwanted features in frequency space, but I am only making pretty pictures and not using the data for quantitative purposes.  My methods are also definitely not automated.

You can find a description of the process here if you are interested.
