CMR query returns MODIS granules with wrong dates

by earthengine_urs » Thu Apr 01, 2021 2:04 pm America/New_York

Hi,

Am I doing something wrong? If I search for MODIS granules for 2002-08-08

https://cmr.earthdata.nasa.gov/search/g ... int=102,10

I get back entries for about two weeks back, ending with the desired entry. Eg, the first result is for 2002-07-23:

"entry":[{"producer_granule_id":"MCD43A1.A2002212.h28v08.006.2016131151922.hdf","time_start":"2002-07-23T00:00:00.000Z",...

Thanks,
Simon

Please find the following from our data expert:
We did verify that this happens for both V006 and V061. I suspect it has something to do with the uniqueness of the MCD43 products(daily composites). I’m not sure there is really a work around in EDSC for this. For our datapool ingest we select nominal coverage, which takes care of the issue. I suspect this would take some work for the EDSC folks to come up with a solution.
