We are currently developing the color bar tool for SeaDAS 8.x. It will be similar to the color bar tool in SeaDAS 7.x, but a bit better. In the meantime, you may wish to use SeaDAS 7.5.3 for exporting your color bar.

I have the basic knowledge of these tools. Will try to explore these tools more for ocean color applications, if possible

I often use one tool to make a base map overly with coastlines, grids, etc. as a vector format file (e.g., PDF) and a different tool to make the false color images. Some care is needed to ensure the mapping is consistent between the different apps, but once you have the details worked out you can process 100's of images with batch scripts, and with small changes produce browse or web quality imagery as well as publication quality. For publications you can overly a vector base map on a series images using LaTeX or other publishing apps.
